حصل على درجة البكالوريوس في اللاهوت وتخصص في الدراسات الكتابية من كلية اللاهوت الكاثوليكية في ملبورن، أستراليا

الأب ماهر متزوج من السيدة رشا صفار وأنجبا أربعة أطفال، منهم ولدان ياشوا ويشوع ولكنهم الان مع يسوع، ومن ثم رزق ببنتين هن مريم وروزاري

عمل الاب ماهر كمرشد روحي في السجن، حيث عمل مع الأفراد الذين يعانون من: الآثار الجسدية والعقلية المؤلمة، وعمل أيضًا كمساعد رعوي، وكانت واجباته العمل مع الشباب في الكنيسة

كانت مهام الأب ماهر هي إنشاء مجموعة شبابية والعمل مع الشباب في كنيسة مريم العذراء حافظة الزروع فكانت ولادة اخويات للشبيبة عدة واللغة الإنكليزية والكلدانية

Fr. Mahir Jamil Murad was

born In Zakho, Iraq in July 1983.

He arrived in Australia in 1992.

He studied in Coolaroo South Primary School from 1992 to 1996, then went to high school from 1997 to 2002.

Fr. Mahir has a bachelor degree in Theology and a major in biblical studies from Catholic Theological College in Melbourne, Australia.

Fr. Mahir had a profound encounter in his dream with Our Lord Jesus on the 5^th of May 2007.

Fr. Mahir got married to Rasha Saffar and have four children, they had two boys Yeshua and Joshua who are with Jesus and two girls Maryam and Rosary who are with them.

Fr. Mahir worked as a Prison Chaplain, working with individuals with: physical, mental and ongoing effects of traumatic experiences, he also worked as a Pastoral Associate, his duties were working with young people in church. Fr. Mahir tasks were to create youth group and working with young people. Fr. Mahir worked as a Tertiary Chaplain, walking beside people for short or longer periods, and being prepared to offer pastoral support wherever needed, leading prayer and/or meditation, develop formation sessions and be involved in social justice issues.
Fr. Mahir was ordained 1^st level subdeacon on 16^th of January 2012,

On the 9^th of May 2021, he was ordained the 2^nd level subdeacon,

On the 22^nd of July 2022, he was ordained as a deacon,

On the 14^th of April 2023, he was ordained into the priesthood.
