حصل على درجة البكالوريوس في اللاهوت وتخصص في الدراسات الكتابية من كلية اللاهوت الكاثوليكية في ملبورن، أستراليا

الأب ماهر متزوج من السيدة رشا صفار وأنجبا أربعة أطفال، منهم ولدان ياشوا وجاشوا ولكنهم الان مع يسوع، ومن ثم رزق ببنتين هن مريم وروزاري

عمل الاب ماهر كمرشد روحي في السجن، حيث عمل مع الأفراد الذين يعانون من: الآثار الجسدية والعقلية المؤلمة، وعمل أيضًا كمساعد رعوي، وكانت واجباته العمل مع الشباب في الكنيسة

كانت مهام الأب ماهر هي إنشاء مجموعة شبابية والعمل مع الشباب في كنيسة مريم العذراء حافظة الزروع فكانت ولادة اخويات للشبيبة عدة واللغة الإنكليزية والكلدانية

He earned a bachelor’s degree in theology with a specialisation in biblical studies from the Catholic Theological College in Melbourne, Australia. 

Fr. Mahir is married to Mrs. Rasha Saffar, and they have four children, including two sons, Yashua and Joshua, who are now with Jesus, as well as two daughters, Maryam and Rosary. 

Fr. Mahir worked as a spiritual guide in prison, where he assisted individuals suffering from painful physical and mental effects. He also served as a pastoral assistant, with responsibilities that included working with the youth in the church. 

Fr. Mahir’s tasks included establishing a youth group and engaging with young people at the Church of Our Lady Guardian of Plants, which led to the formation of several youth fellowships in both English and Chaldean. 

He was ordained as a reader deacon on 01/16/2012, followed by his ordination as a transitional deacon on 05/09/2021. He was then ordained as an evangelist deacon on 07/22/2022, and on 07/14/2023, his dream of priestly ordination was fulfilled.
